Carol, one of Mum's closest friends, completed the London Marathon this year raising a brilliant £450 for Mum's Tribute Fund. I know Mum would have been very proud of her, and would have loved to have been there to cheer her on. Thank you Carol for once again donning your running shoes in memory of Frances.

Carol completed the Mablethorpe Marathon in Lincolnshire on Sunday 16th September 2007. She ran in memory of Frances and raised £107 in sponsorship from family and friends. A cheque for that sum has been sent to MNDA and will be added to the tribute fund in due course. Despite unfavourable conditions Carol ran her fastest time ever and, as a result, hopes to be accepted for the London Marathon in April 2008.

My mum, Frances died this morning. She was 71 and had born MND with great courage and integrity. During her life she was a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother and through her illness became an inspiration to all who came to know her. In death she has left a void and great sadness - but also so many beautiful memories. We will soon be celebrating her life at her funeral and I for one, will be wearing Purple!! Thank you to all for your support to mum and the MND cause over these past years. I know she appreciated it.
